August 2026 Recap
September 4, 2026

August was another month of Pudgy Penguins getting bigger, both literally and figuratively.
New plushies arrived, schleich® collectibles went live, the Pengu World Tour took the Huddle across Asia and North America, and Pengu continued finding its way into increasingly unexpected corners of culture.
Here’s what happened in August 👇
schleich® Series 1 Is Live
Our collaboration with schleich® officially came to life this month with the worldwide launch of Collectible Figurines Series 1 on the Pudgy Penguins Shop.
Pax Pengu and Polly are now available as ~2.5-inch PVC figures in their signature blue and pink colorways, designed to interlock into a hug. Wider retail distribution through Schleich.com, Amazon, Fred Meyer, IT'SUGAR, and more is next.
The launch also marks another step in Pudgy Penguins' European expansion, one that began well before the figures hit shelves. Earlier this year, the team brought the collection to Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg, putting Pudgy Penguins in front of the global toy industry and building the relationships behind products like these.

New 14-Inch Pengu Plushies Are Live
The world’s favorite penguins just got bigger.
This month, we launched a new line of 14-inch Pengu plushies, available worldwide exclusively through the Pudgy Penguins Shop.
After July’s Target rollout brought Pengu to shelves nationwide, the new jumbo plushies give fans an even bigger, more huggable version of the characters they already know and love.

The Huddle IRL
We introduced the Pengu World Tour, a growing network of community-led meetups and IRL experiences around the world.
And August wasted no time getting the Tour moving.
Pengu Asia took the Huddle from city to city, with stops in the Philippines on August 11, Ho Chi Minh City on August 13, Singapore on August 16, and Seoul on August 20. Kakawow boxes were opened along the way, bringing collectors together around one of the newest additions to the Pudgy ecosystem.
Around Malaysia Blockchain Week, Pengu Asia turned Kuala Lumpur into a full weekend of activities, including a two-day popup at Ultra Web3 Fest, a Kakawow trade night, pickleball, and even a sound-bowl spa session between conference hours.

Pengu World Tour
Across the Pacific, Pengu Juice Co. hosted the first World Tour mixer at Riverside Food Lab in Southern California, bringing Penguins from across the region together for food, games, and Pudgy goodies.
Further north, Pudgy Canada crossed the border for a road trip to Seattle, joining Pudgy Seattle for pho, pickleball, and Seattle’s first official meetup. The highlight of the trip was a visit to Pudgy Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant owned by a Pudgy Penguins community member and filled with Pudgy branding, merchandise, and collectibles.

Pengu also showed up in a Corgi Cafe.

Culture Keeps Compounding
Pengu’s growth is not only visible in stores or at meetups. It can also be seen in how naturally the character continues to spread across the internet.
Pengu Emojis crossed 700,000 downloads, with people using Pengu across various social and chat channels.
Total $PENGU mindshare surpassed 450 billion views, while Pudgy Penguins continued closing in on 120 billion views on GIPHY, after crossing 100 billion earlier this year.
Then came one of the more unexpected Pengu sightings yet, when Axios reporter Marc Caputo shared photos of a gold-framed birthday gift given to Secretary of State Marco Rubio by President Trump and White House staffers. The collage featured 68 versions of the viral “Rubio Realizing” meme.
Among them was Pengu.
A community-made Pengu meme had made its way into an official White House birthday gift and was now hanging in Rubio’s office.
It was a small moment, but a perfect example of how culture compounds. A character that starts within a community gets remixed, shared, and carried into places nobody could have planned for.
Sometimes cultural relevance is built through a major campaign. Sometimes Pengu simply shows up.

The Pengu Card crossed another major milestone in August, with more than 35,000 people now using it for everyday spending.
Powered by KAST, the co-branded Visa card allows users to deposit stablecoins or crypto and spend at more than 150 million merchants and ATMs across 170+ countries. Virtual and physical tiers are live, ranging from the free Standard card to Black and Gold.

$PENGU Expands to Robinhood Chain
In August, $PENGU became available on Robinhood Chain, expanding the token beyond its home on Solana. The integration is enabled by LayerZero Labs, helping bring Pengu onto another blockchain ecosystem and creating a new access point for users.
Together, these developments continue to expand how people can interact with the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem, from spending with Pengu Card to accessing $PENGU across new networks.

August showed what happens when all of these pieces start moving at the same time.
New products and partnerships. More cities joining the World Tour. More Pengu Cards in wallets. More builders creating. More places to access $PENGU.
And somewhere along the way, Pengu ended up hanging on the wall of the U.S. Secretary of State’s office.
