July 2026 Recap

July was another massive month for the Huddle. Pudgy Penguins continued to expand across retail, storytelling, collectibles, and community, while celebrating five years since it all began. From Target shelves to San Diego Comic-Con and events around the world, Pengu was everywhere.

Target Plushies Everywhere

Pengu officially landed in Target stores nationwide, following the launch of Pudgy Vibes TCG the month before.

The community wasted no time hitting their local stores, picking up plushies, sharing finds, and celebrating another major retail moment for Pudgy Penguins. With both plushies and trading cards now on shelves across the country, Pengu is reaching more people than ever.

Getting physical Pudgy Penguins products into the homes of millions of people has always been a big part of the vision, and seeing Pengu on Target shelves nationwide brings us another step closer to making that a reality.

San Diego Comic-Con: Comics, Collectibles & More

For the fourth year in a row, Pudgy Penguins returned to San Diego Comic-Con.

Lines stretched around the block, exclusive TCG promo cards flew off the shelves, and the Huddle showed up in force.

The two big highlights: the debut of our first-ever comic book series, Adventures of Pax Pengu & Polly, and our new Pudgy Penguins Little Treats Blind Boxes.

Adventures of Pax Pengu & Polly

The three-volume origin story, alongside the limited hardcover The Berg Omnibus, explores Pax’s journey, his meeting with Polly, and the founding of The Berg.

Written by Vivian Lin, a Lil Pudgy holder and Head of Editorial, with illustrations by Afiq Salam under the creative direction of Peter Lobanov, the series serves as a prequel to the Pudgy Penguins animated universe and is now available to order.

Pudgy Penguins Little Treats

The other breakout product of the show was Pudgy Penguins Little Treats Blind Boxes.

They became our #1 seller throughout Comic-Con, with an incredible response from attendees. We’re now working to get them back in stock while preparing to bring Little Treats to shelves at select retailers ahead of 2027.

Pudgy Penguins x KAKAWOW Trading Cards

We partnered with KAKAWOW, one of Asia’s leading collectible card brands with collaborations spanning Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, and more, to bring Pudgy Penguins deeper into the Asia-Pacific collectibles market.

The 1st Edition Phantom Pudgy Penguins set features Penguins and Lil Pudgys from across the community, rare chase cards, and even a one-of-one autograph grail signed by Luca Netz.

The collection officially launched in late July, debuting at the KakaJoy Card Show in Shanghai and The National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago.

The collaboration also has its own dedicated WeChat mini-app. Search 卡卡沃抽卡机 on WeChat to explore and collect.

Live Shopping on TikTok & Whatnot

We launched Pudgy Penguins Live Shopping across TikTok and Whatnot, bringing the brand into one of the fastest-growing areas of online retail.

Recurring themed shows every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday give collectors and community members a new way to discover products, hang out, and explore different corners of the Pengu universe in real time.

IRL Events & Pengu World Tour

July was packed with real-world Huddle moments across the globe, with even more on the way.

Pudgy Canada

Pudgy Canada celebrated Canada Day at Playland, with around 50 members of the Huddle coming together for rides, food, merch from the team, and an unforgettable day.

The community also had a strong presence at the Blockchain Futurist Conference in Toronto, including a side event, booth, and Marcello joining a panel on community building.

Big shoutout to Spiffy for helping make it happen and continuing to grow the Pudgy Penguins community across Canada.

WebX Japan

The Huddle was out in force at WebX in Japan, continuing to grow Pudgy Penguins across one of our most active regions.

Malaysia Blockchain Week

The Pengu Asia community also showed up at Malaysia Blockchain Week, bringing together holders, builders, and new faces from across the region.

Wall of Penguins

In July, we introduced the Wall of Penguins, a permanent home celebrating community members who consistently go above and beyond for the Huddle.

More than 100 Penguins have already earned their place on the Wall, and it will continue to grow as more members leave their mark on the community.

Five Years of Pudgy Penguins

July 22 marked five years since the original Pudgy Penguins NFT mint.

What started with 8,888 Penguins has grown into a global brand spanning toys, trading cards, comics, games, content, and communities around the world. Through all of it, the Huddle has remained at the center, showing up, creating, collecting, and helping push Pudgy Penguins forward.

A lot has changed in five years. The Huddle is bigger, Pengu is everywhere, and we’re on a clear path to building a generational IP & brand.
